Holding Conscious Connected Breathwork sessions so far...

Image
I’ve been holding group breathwork sessions for a couple of months now and it’s incredible to think about that by consciously connecting to our breath, how much we have collectively shifted, let go of, released, embraced, connected to and so much more.  As we’ve been coming out of the winter months and into spring there’s been a focus of themes around digging deep in the soil for our inner beauty that is beginning to stir, transforming like a butterfly and emerging slowly from our cocoons and then harnessing the power of nature’s elements and our breath to support us to release any layers that we no longer need. It really has been amazing. Now it’s Beltane, Spring is at its height and the light is expanding towards the longest day. This transition in nature and from what I see within myself is a pull to reach towards the light now. Embracing the beauty that is appearing all around us, we have the power to fill ourselves up with this energy of light, renewal and growth and bring abu

Self Love through Breathwork

Self-Love through Breathwork Through consciously connecting to my breath within my body I’ve come to understand myself better, to care about myself more, to listen to my feelings, honour them and to start putting myself first… this I’ve realised is the foundations of what people call self-love! There is so much that we can do to love ourselves more, from self-care, practising gratitude, personal growth, self-compassion, setting boundaries, speaking our truth, and expressing our needs, as well as seeking support from others. I advocate for all these practices, and I want to talk about a couple of them that I’m currently working on myself and are making a big difference for me. Setting Boundaries and Speaking my Truth I’ve become more aware of myself, my feelings, emotions, what actions and experiences in my day-to-day life feel good, what doesn’t. Over the last year or so, setting boundaries and speaking my truth are the aspects of looking after myself that I’ve intuitively identi

It’s all about our Breath - my training experience so far

For the last 3 months breathwork has become a big part of my life. As part of my 400hr breathwork course one of the requirements is to practise a daily 5 minute breathwork as well as a weekly 30 minute conscious connected breathwork. I have practiced the daily breathwork while out for walks, driving the car, shopping in the town or supermarket, lying on the sofa, relaxing in the bath and on a couple of occasions while trying to escape racing anxiety at night, and often as I’m drifting off to sleep.   The breathwork techniques I’ve focused on have been those used for relaxation practises. (There are other types of breathwork which can help to energise and stimulate you too). For me, I wanted to explore ways of bringing the body back into balance and regulate the ‘fight or flight response’ we feel when we’re stressed, using the breath as an anchor to help us to feel safe. This is particularly helpful if we’re feeling a bit ‘up a height’ during the day or experiencing sleeplessnes

My journey into Breathwork... How did I get here?

My Journey into Breathwork.... How did I get here? From my early 20's I was interested in anything alternative and in some ways I guess I've not really changed. I grew up in a rural village with a close group of friends, one of them we lost and that had quite a big impact on my life at that point. I had some experiences soon after that made me sure that there is an afterlife and other worlds alongside this one. I traveled around the world a lot in my late teens and early 20's, went to a lot of festivals where I met and connected with people of all walks of life. I connected with nature deeply, spending lots of time camping, going on hikes. I was aware of energies, and other parts of ourselves that go beyond physical, emotional and mental.               I studied Permaculture at an Eco-village in Croatia in 2010 and learnt about Climate Change. I had some amazing intuitive experiences from just being with an amazing group of people and being held in a safe space by the teach
